IML owner Renslow Charitable Trust holds first meeting

CHICAGO — The Renslow Charitable Trust held its initial organizational meeting at the Executive Offices of International Mr. Leather, Inc. (IML) in Chicago this week. The Trust was formed to manage and ensure Chuck’s express desire that IML be a direct funding source for The Leather Archives & Museum (LA&M), located in Chicago.  Chuck announced the creation of the Trust in his speech at the 2010 International Mr. Leather contest. The Trust owns 100% of International Mr. Leather, Inc. and the income from IML will be used exclusively to support the LA&M. The Trustees of the Trust met and elected a new Board of Directors of International Mr. Leather, Inc. In turn, the new Board of Directors elected three individuals to serve as the new Officers of the IML Corporation.

Chicago sends MCL 2017 Daddy G to IML

CHICAGO — Mr. Chicago Leather 2017, Gerald “Daddy G” Cernak, was sent off to IML on Saturday, May 20, with a party at Chicago’s Touche. The send-off party was a fundraiser for both the MCL travel fund and Rainbow Railroad, an organization that helps LGBTQ people escape from hostile countries like Chechnya. More than $500 was raised both during performances and a raffle. Chicago drag queen Muffy Fishbasket did a performance starting out with Kellyanne Conway’s notorious inauguration outfit then switching to Harley Quinn toward the end, getting a huge approval from the crowd. The Windy City Sisters of Perpetual indulgence were also on hand to wish Daddy G good luck and, after having him walk on water (water sprinkled on the floor), parting the red C and curing the blind (putting MIR 17 Jeffery Basile’s glasses back on), declared him Saint VPL, patron saint of boys in gray sweat shorts.

Illinois wins big at IML

CHICAGO — History was made this past Sunday when two Chicagoans reached the International Mr. Leather podium. It is the first time in IML’s 38-year history that any resident of the contest’s home city has reached the podium. Mr. Chicago Leather 2016 Todd Harris was named first runner-up and Mr. Midwest Leather 2016 Adam “Vino” Henderson was named second runner-up. It’s the first time that any Chicago resident has been in the top three and one of the very few times that two contestants from a single city have been in the top three. “It felt amazing,” Todd said the day after the contest.

Illinois IML 2016 Send Off

Chicago sends off their IML 2016 contestants

CHICAGO — With International Mr. Leather (IML) just a couple of weeks away, Chicago got ready to send off their contestants. Unlike past years where there has often only been a single contestant from IML’s host city, there are four Chicagoans going to the contest downtown. So two parties were held this past weekend with Touche hosting the send off for Mr. Chicago Leather 2016 Todd Harris and Jackhammer, just next door, hosting the party for Mr. Leather 64TEN James Tyrcha, Mr. Fetish Jackhammer Justin Herren and Mr. Midwest Leather Adam “Vino” Henderson (Midwest is a regional title but Adam lives in Chicago). Both parties were fundraisers for the titleholder’s travel funds. All four will be at the Congress Hotel and Harris Theater in two weeks for IML 2016.
